Product designer David Goodwin, the inventor of Flexyfoot, has 25 years of experience of creating innovative, stylish and commercially successful products.
After a conversation with his sister who has MS, about the difficulties and discomfort with her walking stick, David took up the mantle of designing something better. He quickly realised the need for a sporty and smart walking stick and set about creating a comfortable, safe and flexible walking stick with the unique Flexyfoot ferrule that has since become their trademark.
The Flexyfoot ferrule is the result of three years of extensive research, design and development and is made up of two parts, the collar and the pleated bellows. The bellows absorb the shock every time your stick touches the ground, which reduces jarring pain in the arms, shoulder, elbows, back and neck. Flexyfoot also produce their own range of ergonomic walking sticks, crutches and hiking poles. Assembly, packing and shipping of their products is carried out in the UK by the Devon Disability Collective, providing invaluable employment for our disabled people which gets a big thumbs up from us!
